FLIO wins Crystal Cabin Award for the Best Customer Journey

FLIO is the first-ever winner of the “Best Customer Journey Experience” of the Crystal Cabin Award! Leading experts from the aviation industry acknowledged FLIO to have the best service along the journey of passengers.

The Crystal Cabin Award is often described as “Oscars of aviation industry”.  It is designed to motivate companies and research facilities to develop the most innovative and passenger-centered solutions for aircraft cabin interiors.

The prestigious award was conferred last night at the APEX EXPO and AIX North America trade fairs in Boston. This year’s winners from other categories include Airbus, Rockwell Collins, and Boeing. The selection criterea were:

1. Grade of Innovation:
Does the entry solve the problem in a completely new, innovative way?

2. Operator benefit/Utility:
Is it a relevant improvement to existing alternatives?

3. Passenger benefit/Utility:
Is the entry easy to use for the customer?

A jury made up of about 30 renowned academics, engineers, specialist journalists and airline and aircraft manufacturer representatives saw all criteria met and honored FLIO’s worldwide unique user journey. Walé Adepoju, member of the jury and EVP & Chief Strategy Officer at Global Eagle, highlighted: „The FLIO Digital Airport Experience is a great example of how digital solutions can add value to commercial air travel, as well as to the individual traveler.”

We are especially proud that we won this David vs. Goliath like competition: Our app asserted in the final round against other top-class concepts from American Airlines and Inflight VR by Airbus. In the last years, the Crystal Cabin Awards were mostly handed to industry giants such as Lufthansa Technik, Etihad Airlines, Delta Air Lines. Being on the market for less than four years, FLIO is still early – but operating on eye-level when it comes to offering superior value along the journey. Airport information, real-time flight status, retail vouchers, parking and lounge bookings: FLIO has it all in one single app so passengers don’t need a multitude of apps for their travel needs.

Winning THE international prize for innovation in aviation motivates us to keep on developing exciting features. Together with our partners, we are continuously working on taking out the stress in air travel for passenger around the world. Given the recognition in the field that is much closer to airlines than airports, we hope to partner with more airlines in the future, just like we do with easyJet.
